Taking the reigns on the lead track is none other than Lewisham born Maxsta. Track entitled ‘Boom & Bang’ which is one of two productions by Filthy Gears on 1FGRM002.

Jumping on mic at the young age of 14 and releasing his debut mixtape at 16 it wasn’t long before established names such as Gods Gift started to pick up on Maxsta. 2009 was the year he made a lot of noise through ‘East London Is Back’ which was supported regularly across BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, thus leading him to perform at T In The Park in 2010.

Over the course of the next couple of years he signed to Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary Just Jam Records, owned by CEO of SB:TV, MBE Jamal Edwards. This deal pushed the Newham raised MC into the limelight further not just through releases but also through advertising campaigns with Adidas and Google. Maxsta continued to make a big impact on the scene showcasing his distinct flow & lyrical content via a number of freestyle videos on YouTube, the majority of them amassing over 100k views each. Not to mention numerous sets he participated in on 1Xtra such as #GimmeGrime and his solo Grime Show appearance with Sir Spyro on Rinse FM in 2016.

Over a career spanning a little short of a decade he has worked with the likes of Tinie Tempah, Wiley & most recently P Money on ‘Keeping It Moving’ which was playlisted by MTV in December he’s set himself up nicely to continue forcing his way through to the grime elite in 2018 starting with ‘Boom & Bang’.

Meanwhile Filthy Gears has been working away in the background putting out instrumentals on his Bandcamp since 2015. The last 12 months has seen his talent picked up on by a whole host of names, 1 of those being, you got it.. P Money. The OGz MC signed up Filthy Gears for an 18 track album to make him the 1st artist to release on his Label bringing through the likes of Wiley, Jammz, Capo Lee, YGG, Manga, Discarda and more for features. Since then he was 1 of the first guests to appear on Sir Spyros newly acclaimed 1Xtra residency.
