about

A long awaited debut from Burt Cope is arguably one of the highlights of this release who bridges the authentic bassline sound from Palize, Killa P, J69 & Breeza to Badgers lower tempo bass house take with a bassline sound straight out of 2016. A standout year in the bassline timeline for a lot of the younger generation of bass music fans, coming in at a lower tempo around the 132-134 mark it was a year that set the foundations of taking the new wave sound to the dizzying mainstream heights it’s at today.

Burt Cope, originally from Oxford, is one of Bass music’s rising talents who’s unique sound has created waves in the scene for a couple of years now. His production fluctuates between Garage, Bassline and Drum & Bass, all of which he likes to showcase in most of his sets. He’s previously had support from DJ Q with multiple tracks played on Kiss FM as well as having support from names like Conducta and Skepsis. Burt has also turned heads with his brand Can You Cope? Which has set pace in the events and live stream sectors. With releases on various labels such as Crucast, Macky Gee’s label Down2Earth Musik and being playlisted on Rinse FM, as well as landing sets across the country at high profile events such as Bassfest and Kiwi Hush, Burt is one of a kind who’s seamlessly integrated himself into three quite contrasting scenes.
