The main contributor to 1Forty’s Grime and Dubstep discography is 9TRANE, pair the Norwich based producer up with one of the labels most original sounding rising talents in Fork And Knife and the outcome is ‘Check It’. Two signature styles come together to meet right down the middle using Fork And Knife’s frantic skippy drums and custom FX side by side with 9TRANE’s lead synths of pure bassweight.

9TRANE made an appearance on the label earlier this year celebrating two years of the label on ‘2 Years Of 1Forty’ with his highly anticipated ‘Plazma VIP’ alongside Arridim. This will be his first appearance on a Genre Release since 1FFNG002 in September 2018. In that time he has had arguably his biggest release to date on the world renowned Punks Music ran by Stanton Warriors. The lead track ‘Trippy’ was with My Nu Leng front man Dread MC which saw a Premier from Data Transmission and when it dropped the full EP went straight to #1 on Beatport. ‘Check It’ is the follow up release to his chart topping release and it’s just as highly anticipated for fans of the 1Forty label as one thing that 9TRANE and Fork And Knife have in common is their intricate sound, which is all heavily influenced by Grime and Dubstep whilst also taking influence from minimal UK Bass/Techno and Drum & Bass.

Based in North East London, Fork And Knife has carved out a sound that pays homage to the underground scenes that have shaped him as a person over the past decade. More recently spreading his wings into Grime and Garage he’s applied techniques from producing different genres over the years with the result being unique structures with injections of sharp sound design using square wave basses and an often frantic yet stellar selection of drums. It’s not hard to see why his sound is so original with 10 years of production under his belt.

This is Fork And Knife’s first time appearing on a Genre Release after his debut single with the label ‘Real Monsters’ which gathered support from the likes of Toddla T on BBC Radio 1, and its follow up ‘Real Monsters VIP’ for the ‘2 Years Of 1Forty’ Release, the latter earlier this year in June.
