For the Funky & Garage addition to the first ever 1Forty Remixers EP we had to shout Killjoy who has been a big contributor to FNG releases since the label was formed. His pick of the bunch being Dialect & Vital Technique's 'Best In This', originally taking one of the oldest Grime Instrumentals in the book and flipping it into a 2 step heater, Killjoy has twisted it into yet another direction carving out a Funky/Grime hybrid.

Dialect has been the leading MC out of Leeds for some time now, coming from a battle rapping background as one of the main names on the Don't Flop roster before really pushing forward as an artist in the past five years. His accolades put him right up there when we talk about MC's in the north having featured countless times across the likes of 1Xtra often being championed by Sir Spyro, as well as other platforms with regular music videos landing on SB:TV and GRM Daily. 2019 saw his debut 1Forty release 'Best In This' landing just before his coveted Lord Of The Mics 8 clash with Jafro.

On remix duties is Killjoy, having being a key player in Nottingham’s underground music scene for the past 8 years his productions have been duly rewarded with consistent releases in the last few years on the likes of Champion’s Label - Formula Records, and also a figurehead for Tumble Audio, the Label he has pioneered since starting out alongside his own venture - Joyride. His hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed over the years with productions for the likes of D Double E on ‘Like This’ as well as mix’s for FabricLive & THUMP.

In more recent years he has been consistently developing his signature blend of Funky, Bass and Grime in his productions becoming a staple in a host of sets from Funky & Bass’s most reputable names. This has lead to a number of appearances on Marcus Nasty’s Rinse FM show in the past couple of years including participating in the 1Forty Takeover on the former NASTY Crew DJ’s weekly slot.
