Killa P has, in part, been responsible for putting 1Forty on the map with being the first established artist to work with the label back in 2017 and consistently since with three original releases and three remixes under his belt. This seventh appearance and collaboration came around after the label dropped some acapellas at the peak of COVID-19 in 2020 to inspire some producers by working with some professional vocals. The result was an onslaught of different versions across multiple genres. One that got people talking and thus got Killa P’s attention was Palizé’s bootleg of ‘Rate Us’. With that ship already sailing being self released as a free download, a Palizé and Killa P record was pencilled in for Killa P’s BSS release debut having previously been released across the other genres on 1Forty. It also paved the way for Palizé’s debut on the label after being a resident at the 1Forty events over the period of 2016/17.
The outcome can’t help but throw us back to the iconic 1QY & F@Z Ft Killa P ‘I No’ taken from Killa P’s Killa Instinct Vol II. A track renowned with the Sheffield niche scene circa 2009 in which Killa’s consistent flow and patois lyrics talk back and forth to a female vocal sample over a classic Bassline. That being said, Palizé's modern take on the older sound offers up his signature bass synths whilst still pairing up to that same structure to give us a newer take on the original Bassline sound in 2021 with ‘Duppy Them’.
Wherever you see Scumfam, Palizé is usually not far behind. The Sheffield producer started producing in 2013 and established himself pretty fast becoming the Steel City crew’s in-house producer, and DJ at the likes of Eskimo Dance and Bassline Festival. A lot of his highest production accolades have come on Scumfam duties with three iTunes Dance Chart Top 10’s for ‘As Per’, ‘As Per Remix’ and the ‘R U Daft’ EP flying the flag for underground music in Sheffield, not to mention the two successive additions to the Pure Bassline CD’s mixed by DJ Q & Jamie Duggan. Palizé also produced both of K Dot’s Fire In The Booth instrumentals while ‘Scary’ has amassed over a million hits with K Dot and Tempo.
Furthermore Palizé boasts a strong discography of individual self releases whilst also working with the likes of Midlands’ Four40 Records very recently, which collectively has lead to regular support from Bassline kingpins DJ Q, Jamie Duggan and TQD as well as the likes of DJ EZ, DJ Target and Sian Anderson, all of which have been big advocates of Bassline to this day.
A renowned MC in the Grime & Dubstep world. Killa P’s acclaimed for his unique patois style and hard lyrics. Killa became known as one of the UK’s prolific MCs while he was a member of one of the UK’s founding grime crews, Roll Deep. His style and flow led to commercial success and earned him a new generation of fans through his 2008 collaboration with The Bug on the seminal track ‘SKENG’. Fast forward a few years to 2016 where he released the biggest track of the year with Sir Spyro, Teddy Bruckshot & Lady Chann on Deep Medi along with other successful releases, including ‘Rate Us’ which was his 2nd Release under 1Forty on 1FGRM002. 'They Don't Know' and 'How Many Times’ were his third and fourth track respectively as he became the first MC on the Label to come with a double header on a single release following from the 1Forty Takeover on BBC Radio 1 w/ Toddla T in December 2018.
