2020’s unexpected pandemic lead us into 12 months of lockdown which provided DJ Ayy Den a chance to explore production with the first of these experiments ‘Pressure Dip’ in collaboration with Murder He Wrote. Offering up a summery atmospheric build combined with an array of UK Funky style drum and cow bell work before submerging deeper and deeper into its low end leaving ‘Pressure Dip’ ticking all the boxes for the long awaited summer ahead.

Ayy Den’s journey began in Canada. Growing up surrounded by a healthy mix of hip-hop, reggae, dancehall and soul music. These early influences combined with the fresh UK sounds of Funky, Garage, and Dubstep making their way across the ocean led to Ayy Den's move from avid listener to radio host, DJ, and promoter - co-hosting intimate after-hours shows for a wide selection of international acts passing through British Columbia. Now based in Manchester, UK her eclectic bass-led DJ Sets taking in Jersey Club, Funky and beyond are rapidly gaining plaudits, already featuring in Trench and The Face Magazine and on some of the UK’s best radio stations including Rinse FM, NTS, SWU and Reprezent.

Blending elements of Broken Beat, UK Garage, Soca and House into his own off-kilter take on bass music, Murder He Wrote’s playful productions and edits have been destroying clubs worldwide. Originally breaking out via a flurry of releases on the Roska Kicks & Snares imprint, MHW’s tracks have gained heavy support from a diverse range of dance music's most respected tastemakers including Mary Anne Hobbs, DJ EZ, Gilles Peterson, Redlight and Jamz Supernova. Working across 3 decks, his eclectic, low-end focused DJ sets have seen him land guest mixes on BBC Radio 1, Boiler Room, NTS, Rinse FM and BBC 6Music - alongside a touring schedule that’s taken in clubs and festivals around the world including Fabric, Ministry Of Sound and Outlook.

Highlights of a busy 2019 include a Boiler Room debut, a production on Fox’s debut album ‘Juice Flow’ on Swing Ting (one of Mixmag’s albums of the year), the heavily supported single ‘Worthwhile’ ft. Logan making the A-List on Rinse FM and Spotify’s 'New Music Friday’, and DJ sets across Europe, North America and Australia. 2020 saw the release of two collaborations with UK Funky legend Roska, official remixes for Afro B, T-Pain, Zed Bias and Children Of Zeus plus an eclectic run of singles on MHW’s own Rhythm Athletic imprint - amassing over a half a million Spotify streams and support across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, NTS and 6Music.

Any chance of Side by Side the vocal mix on Bandcamp, please sir? They only place I have that is on Youtubes and it has really bad sound quality. At the moment I'm Side by Siding myself doing all the lyrics myself and my dog is looking at me like I'm daft. I'm a 50 year old man. I should not be acting like this around the house. humblenations
