Ali McK brings through his duo partner on the label for the first time IYZ, collaborating with Kage, another newcomer for a gritty yet bouncy Bass House track to round off the release.

Ali was a debutant on the Label back in May 2018 with a funky flip of Wileys ‘We’re Ready’ which received huge support from Toddla T. He has been a key player in the resurgence of UK Funky over the last 24 month with releases across More Time Records, Tumble Audio whilst driving the sounds of UK Funky through the scene via his own label Articulate Records. With that being said he has always had a huge influence from Grime & Dubstep too evident with ‘Grime Street’ and ‘1Forty Ting’ on 1FGRM003 at the end of 2018.

He along with IYZ was asked directly by Skream to bootleg his timeless 2006 dubstep track ‘Midnight Request Line’ for his one off special on Rinse FM the same summer with D Double E and Marcus Nasty, which soon became one of the most wanted dubs in the scene. 1Forty’s favourite things to do is bring producers into other Genre Releases and ‘Straight Ravin’’ see’s Ali complete the Hat Trick of appearing under all of the Genres under the label format. IYZ has been with Ali McK every step of the way across this journey except for his 1Forty releases with countless collaborations together.. after all they are a duo, but that is now about to change.

Teaming up with the pair is Kage who has been inspired by a wide range of bass heavy music including Dubstep and Bass House, which has helped carve out his sound. Heavy Drum & Bass and Bassline are a staple of the young Chesterfield producer’s live sets, which have been showcased at Krudd on a regular basis supporting artists such as Darkzy, Skepsis, Holy Goof and DJ Phantasy just to mention a few. His recent productions have seen him try incorporate much more groove into his tracks with working at a lower tempo whilst staying in the UK Bass realms as is on show here.
