‘What You Gonna Do’ sees Hamdi make his return to 1Forty for the first time since the birth of the label two and a half years ago on 1FGRM001. This time around however its the first time stepping in the vocal booth with it being his first ever vocal release as an artist. That aside it’s one big Brighton link up with three artists from the south coast coming together for a modern day funky classic.

Being one of grime’s shining lights in 2018, Razor made 2019 his year with a work rate even Killa P would be proud of. Becoming famed for his high energy presence, electric live performance and undoubtable top grade consistency. In recent times, Razor has sped to the top of the grime scene, being one of the most exciting vocalists to hit the airwaves and main stages, racking up an untouchable number of radio hours and live performances around the UK. These performances include a run of high profile livestream appearances on platforms such as Just Jam and Keep Hush, along with a stand out segment at Wiley’s Birthday Bash, catapulting him drastically forward, and much like Logan, Razor gained a substantial number of new fans at Outlook Festival, doing between 1 and 2 performances each day of the festival tearing down stages and boat parties alike.

Pairing up with Razor on the vocal is fellow Southpoint artist Hamdi. Growing up listening to a lot of Grime and Dubstep it’s not hard to see the path he's taken firstly as a producer and secondly as an MC. In the last 12 months the Oxford born 21 year old has gone on to release his own series of freestyle videos entitled ‘Bars’ all of which have amassed tens of thousands of views across social media whilst still having the likes of Novelist, Prez T, Manga and a number of other artists regularly spitting over his beats on radio sets and gaining support on his music from the likes of EZ, My Nu Leng, Flava D, Sir Spyro, Spooky, Conducta, Sicaria Sound and more. Only last month Hamdi was drawing wheel ups from Plastician on deck alongside Razor on mic and it’s not often in this generation you see an artist be as strong with the mic as on the buttons, that being said we may have another Jammz on our hands.

The third and final part of this track sees Bristol based Retrospect churn out a heavily grime influenced funky track that resonates with the 2007-2009 UK Funky sound. Taking inspiration from the likes of Sir Spyro, Champion, Roska and Jook the Brighton born DJ & Producer has been making 128-160bpm tracks for 3 years putting out music on the likes of Nottingham’s Tumble Audio and Articulate respectively both focusing on underground Bass, Grime & Funky. Having played at a number of Brighton and Bristols most reputable venues he’s also seen appearances on Reprezent w/ Kade and Roska Kick’s and Snares newest member Motu with a 100% productions mix on Marcus Nastys show to look forward to this December.
